Psychoeducational
Learning difficulties can be challenging for not only the child but their parents and teachers. It is important to establish the areas in which the child is experiencing difficulties and not mistaking common social anxieties for a learning disability.
Our psychoeducational assessments start with an interview with the parent and child to begin to better understand the child’s experiences. This is a crucial component of the psychoeducational assessment to ensure we move forward with the best information.
The purpose of this assessment is not to provide a diagnosis. Instead, the assessment provides an objective understanding of what your child needs; their strengths, weaknesses and types of intervention necessary, with the intention of providing insight, information, and a way forward.
We utilize industry-standard tests which are designed to screen and assess for a variety of issues, including learning disabilities, developmental delays, and processing disorders. Upon completion of the assessments, we provide a report advocating on your child’s behalf to the respective school board.
The results we provide include specific recommendations to optimize the learning conditions for your child.
